Harlem Fest

Harlem Fest is a once a year festival that was created the same year as Woodstock. This festival has been coined in the new documentary Summer of Soul as the first place black boy joy was documented. After doing extensive research the concept came from a quote from one of the interviews I watched which was “an experience that is nothing less than the sound of freedom”. I wanted the feel of the design to encompass the emotional richness that everyone continues to express once they come. Through that I settled on a something that I hope conveys the fullness and importance of this festival to the Harlem community.
